What is this?!
The Story So far
Historically, there has never been anything of value in the underdark cavern that houses the Moondeep sea. There is a city in the center of the lake, but it is a small settlement of little more than a thousand, relying primarily on fishing, bone craft exports, and the sporadic group of slaves occasionally rounded up from the surface.
The general uninteresting nature of the region recently changed when duergar prospectors discovered a new gemstone they call shadowstone, a dark material that absorbs feazress and focuses it to augment magical properties, making it invaluable for the creation of enchanted items. A small army of duergar moved into the cavern and founded a permanent settlement, a move that alarmed the local drow.
Responding to the news of the newly discovered wealth in the area, and eager to slaughter some duergar, is House Torath, a noble house ruled by a half dragon drow that has bided her time building fortunes before making her bid for power. It has put out a call for mercenaries and adventurers to enlist in its invasion against the entrenched duergar fortress in the area.
Power is currency, and it changes hands often. In recent centuries, a new faith worshipping a goddess named Aunyrr has arisen in the dark to rival the spider queen, and Kiaransalee stretches out her boney fingers to grasp at influence in the new city of Nindorzahar. Lolth is dead, her mantle as a goddess usurped by one of her own archpriestesses, and the order of things in the dark has never been the same since. Who will sieze control of the destiny of the drow now?

About Us and Why a new server now?
The story begins...
The Moondeep Delve began as a project following a series of significant changes to a server we'd been devoted to for years. The server changed hands, things changed, and we decided we wanted to carve our own path.
Several years and tens of thousands of hours of work later, we are here.
Our team is a cadre of underdark loving players with a combined 30+ years of experience playing underdark races. We know what we want an underdark server to look and feel like, and while we've played with the lore slightly to mitigate the suffocating nature of strict Lolthite drow roleplay, we feel our server is a place that we'd be happy to roleplay on and call home.
